Opieka w ostrej fazie udaru pomimo znaczącego zwiększenia dostępności do skutecznych metod terapeutycznych nadal wymaga poprawy. Konieczne jest również szybkie implementowanie nowych wytycznych, które ustawicznie ulegają modyfikacji. Niewątpliwie poprawie wymaga również opieka nad pacjentami z udarami krwotocznymi, gdzie nadal brakuje skutecznego leczenia swoistego. Tu konieczne jest wdrożenie intensywnej opieki zawiązanej z kontrolą glikemii, temperatury i ciśnienia tętniczego, a także minimalnie inwazyjnej ewakuacji ogniska krwotocznego. 6.
