During hospitalisation for more than 12 hours, the patient is supported at every step of the way by a team of professionals, composed of committed and welcoming specialised doctors and caregivers. The patient will stay in a single or double room, depending on the nature of the operation or according to his or her wishes.

Lasting between 1 and 12 hours, outpatient surgery hospitalisation does not involve an overnight stay. In other words, the patient goes into the facility in the morning and returns home in the evening, unless the surgeon recommends supervision overnight following the operation, to prevent any complications. Outpatient surgery is scheduled and carried out with the same degree of diligence and according to the same sterility rules as operations performed in full hospitalisation.

Provided systematically before every operation, an anaesthesia consultation allows patients to prepare for surgery in optimal conditions. During this meeting, the anaesthetist explains the risks, constraints and benefits of the anaesthetic to the patient. Anaesthesia techniques, pain management and whether or not a blood transfusion will be needed are also addressed to ensure the patient is fully aware of all the facts before granting his or her consent. Lastly, the anaesthetist may also need to prescribe, temporarily stop or adapt current medication.
