How does a health centre work?

A health centre is a local health structure employing various highly qualified healthcare professionals, especially general practitioners and specialists, with cutting-edge materials and technical equipment.

Proposing a primary care offer, our health centres stand out from other healthcare establishments through the variety of care provided, although some centres specialise in very specific areas, such as the dental or nursing sectors. Through the shared medical record system, patients can benefit from coordinated and continuous care along their entire care path.

Our health centres

Who can benefit from care in a health centre?

Health centres are establishments open to all, where everyone can benefit from the consultations, diagnoses and quality medical, paramedical or dental care they need, tailored to their pathologies. Patients can benefit from discounted prices through their health insurance, without excess charges, and third-party payment. If their health condition justifies it, patients can even benefit from the expertise of the professionals working in the health centre directly in their home.

The missions of the LNA Santé health centres

Historically, health centres were established in geographical areas, where access to care, and more specifically access to specialist practitioners, was difficult. Forming part of a global healthcare system modernisation project implemented by the French government, our health centres provide concrete solutions to the following problems:

  • Providing quality and ethical care, accessible to all, without distinction.
  • Offering services eligible for reimbursement through medical insurance.
  • Combating ‘medical deserts’ by facilitating access to care for local populations.
  • Ensuring patients receive global and continuous care.
  • Constantly improving the medical and paramedical offer proposed to patients.

Our 3 health centres in France

The LNA Santé Group has 3 health centres spread across France. With a team of general practitioners and specialists, each of our establishments has its own specialisations and complete technical equipment to enable the conducting of complementary examinations.

The specialisations of our health centres

Provided by a general practitioner, the main objective of this type of consultation is to determine primary care, but also to ensure continuity of care and monitoring. At the heart of care coordination, preventive measures and screening, the general practitioner calls on healthcare professionals, according to the expertise required for the condition identified.

Hypertension, diabetes, asthma, smoking, excess weight, chest pain, etc. One of the leading causes of death in France, cardiovascular diseases require regular monitoring by a specialist. Thanks to a battery of ultra-precise examinations (electrocardiogram, heart ultrasound, effort test, Holter ECG monitor, breathing measurement, sleep polygraphy) and a highly effective arsenal of treatment, our cardiologists and pulmonologists really take your health to heart!

Specialists in the study and diagnosis of both the central (brain and spinal cord) and peripheral nervous systems (roots and nerves), neurologists carry out diagnoses based on a detailed investigation of the patient and an examination of the reflexes and different functions of the nervous system. During these consultations, neurologists may handle a great variety of different conditions:

  • Motor disorders: paralysis (brain-derived, connected with a muscular disease, such as myopathy, or connected to damage to the spinal cord or peripheral nerves), abnormal movements (trembling, tics, cricked neck), cramps
  • Sensitivity issues: pins and needles, numbness, insensitivity, balance issues, nerve pain, migraines, headaches, etc.
  • Consciousness and sleep disorders: insomnia, mental confusion
  • Disruption of brain functions: memory, language, comprehension, drawing, calculation, reasoning, etc.
  • Epilepsy

Experts in the female reproductive organs, gynaecologists support women throughout their life, from puberty to menopause, through pregnancy and birth. Gynaecologists not only provide advice on contraception, sexuality and fertility, but also carry out screening, diagnoses, treatment and prevention measures for diseases of the reproductive system.

Present throughout pregnancy and even beyond (post-partum period and monitoring of the baby), midwives perform a number of missions: monitoring during pregnancy, management of childbirth, preparation lessons for birth and parenthood, perineal rehabilitation, etc. In cases of risky pregnancy or early discharge after childbirth, a midwife may also intervene at the patient’s home.

During pregnancy, they are authorised to carry out laboratory tests, diagnoses or X-rays: ultrasound, radio-pelvimetry, serodiagnosis of rubella, toxoplasmosis or HIV.

Nephrology plays a key role in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease: acute or chronic kidney failure, renal colic, proteinuria (presence of protein in the urine), haematuria (presence of blood in the urine), nephritic syndrome, glomerulonephritis and repeated urine infections. Depending on the pathologies detected, they may need to work closely with other specialists, especially urologists, diabetologists, cardiologists and resuscitators.

With expertise in chronic painful joint infections of the musculoskeletal system, specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation handle the following pathologies:

  • Back pain: neck pain, dorsalgia, lumbago and sciatica
  • Chronic joint pain: shoulders, knees, ankles
  • Diabetic foot problems: scarring, wound debridement, discharge, surgical indications in the event of amputation, foot orthosis or orthopaedic shoes, in conjunction with other specialists

In consultations with a sports physician, a doctor who specialises in sport medicine treats athletes of all levels with a joint condition limiting or preventing the resumption of sports activities:

  • Ligament injuries: sprains, cruciate ligament tears.
  • Tendon and muscle injuries: tendinitis, muscle tears, muscle strains.
  • Joint instabilities and dislocations.
  • Meniscus injuries: knee locking.

After a thorough examination of the musculoskeletal system, a sports physician will put forward one or more diagnosis hypotheses and prescribe complementary examinations. Following confirmation of the initial diagnosis, specialised treatment is introduced to make it easier for the patient to quickly regain his or her independence and resume sport activities.

Moreover, sports physicians are authorised to issue the medical certificates necessary for practising certain sports.

Dental surgeons practise dental treatment, oral surgery, periodontics (treatment of the tissues that support the teeth), the use of custom-made implants, crowns, bridges and dentures. In order to guarantee optimal care for the patient, X-rays are taken on site, thanks to 3D panoramic radiology (Cone Beam).

Carried out by an orthodontist/stomatology doctor with expertise in dentofacial orthopaedics, orthodontic care consists in correcting flaws in the positioning of the jaw and teeth, for both children and adults, to improve chewing, swallowing, breathing and speech, but also to prevent receding gums or tooth decay. Alignment can be corrected through modern techniques and the use of detachable or fixed devices.

Highly qualified and specialised medical teams

Composed of highly qualified professional employees with complementary skills, the teams in our health centres give patients the chance to benefit from global and continuous care, including complementary examinations carried out on site, high-quality care, the use of modern techniques, the prescription of treatments adapted to their pathologies and rigorous monitoring of their file.

The prices applied by our health centres

The fees charged by the healthcare professionals working in our health centres, all sector 1 accredited employees, are consistent with social security rates. In other terms, this means that there are no excess fees, except in exceptional cases: a specific request from the patient regarding the time or venue of the treatment, or failure to respect the care path initially established by the medical team. Moreover, in keeping with their aim to make quality care accessible to the largest number of people, our establishments systematically offer third-party payment.
